Medications

Sublimaze (Fentanyl)

You may also receive an injection of Sublimaze - a pain medication which aids in relaxation and further controls any discomfort you experience. You will receive the medication just prior to your procedure. It begins to take effect within seconds, and a pleasant, relaxing, slightly drowsy feeling lasts about 30 minutes. By the time you leave the clinic, the effect of the Sublimaze will wear off. However, you should not drive a motor vehicle, nor operate any machinery for a minimum of four hours.

Versed

You may also receive an injection of VersedVersed is a tranquilizing agent that will increase the calming effect of all the medications. It will heighten your sense of relaxation and may make you feel very drowsy. You should not drive or operate machinery for a minimum of 12 hours.

In order to receive all these medications and maximize pain management it will be required that you have some one driving you home from the office.  Please contact our office for any extenuation circumstances regarding your particular situation.
